The initial orthodontic examination should be done at about 7 years of age, unless you suspect a problem earlier. Choosing the right time to start a treatment is very important. Early diagnosis and treatment can help promote favorable tooth eruption and perhaps prevent permanent tooth extraction later. 
The duration of treatment varies as it depends on the type and severity of the orthodontic problem. It usually takes one to two years.
An orthodontic treatment includes two stages, that of active treatment and that of restraint. Both stages are very important for a correct end result.
The total cost of an orthodontic treatment depends on factors such as the type and the severity (difficulty) of the orthodontic anomaly, the duration of treatment and the type of orthodontic appliances to be used. The cost is not such that it is an obstacle to ensure the health of your teeth and get a beautiful smile.
